Africa stands at a defining moment in health and development. While the continent has faced disproportionate challenges—pandemics, climate shocks, fragile supply chains, and underfunded systems—it is also a land of innovation, resilience, and leadership. The Africa Health Summit (AHS) will be a continental platform that convenes policymakers, researchers, health professionals, the private sector, civil society, and development partners to debate, present, and shape the trajectory of Africa’s health systems.
For the first time, the HIHA Gala Ceremony will be repositioned as a celebratory side event of this broader continental gathering—honoring champions while the Summit sets the agenda for Africa’s collective health future.
To establish Africa’s premier continental platform for health transformation where governments, scientists, innovators, civil society, and the private sector converge to shape a resilient, sovereign, and inclusive health economy. The Summit will set the pace for Africa-led solutions, policy harmonisation, and strategic investment in health systems that serve all.
To drive bold, evidence-based dialogue and action that accelerates universal health coverage, epidemic preparedness, and health sovereignty. The Summit will showcase African-led innovations, amplify community and youth voices, and forge multi-sectoral partnerships that close equity gaps, strengthen local manufacturing, and institutionalise continental collaboration.
The Summit is convened by the Ministry of Health, Uganda, in collaboration with regional and international partners, including the MHS Foundation, development partners, and key stakeholders in Africa’s health sector.
